Experienced and Licensed Tour Guide in and around Rome
It's a passion, before being a job. INFO + RESERVATIONSTour Guide in Roma
I’m Fabio Salemme, an art historian and a licensed tour guide, authorized to offer guided tours in Rome and its province.
I was born in Naples, a wonderful city where I obtained a three-year degree in Conservation of Cultural Heritage, before moving to Rome and concluding my studies with a Master’s Degree in Historical-Artistic Studies, followed by the Postgraduate Specialization School, which then led me to be licensed to practice the profession of tourist guide and to offer guided tours in the entire province of Rome.
Before entering the world of guided tours I dedicated to the design and organization of various educational projects for schools, two of which published in educational notebooks. This experience gave me the opportunity to develop workshops and educational tours for school kids.
My personal approach was to learn art and history through direct experience and through the “if I do it I will learn it” method, focusing more on the similarities and differences that every era and civilization brings, and then gradually developing points of contact between the various eras and civilizations. I like to design customized guided tours, especially tour for children and educational guided tours for schools, which go beyond the simple frontal lesson and during which I like to create reenactments of historical characters, playing with their personalities, their cultural framework and highlighting historic customs often ancestors of ours.
In my guided tours in and around Rome, and in general in my work as tourist guide, I always try to convey my passion for the history of art, proposing paths that lead those who listen to me to relive the events of characters of past eras, beyond clichés and the idealization that history has always brought with it.
