Guided Tours and Typical Art, Food and Handicraft Experiences in Rome
Rome is famous for its monuments, archaeological areas, palaces, fountains, museums, churches and much more. The real key to discover and understand Rome is not only the archaeological or monumental key, but the discovery of small gestures, rituals and traditions that are transmitted from generation to generation, traditions that are today protected and perpetuated, and that live and make the Rome of everyday.
We are talking about the Rome of artists, artisans, the food and wine tradition, and our proposal to discover the Eternal City through an experiential tour that focuses and emphasizes on the Roman traditions of food, art and crafts.
Discover the typical products of the city of Rome at Km 0, studios of local artists and their way of representing the eternal city in a modern vision. or local handicrafts, from goldsmiths to fabrics, and extend your experience to local typical food products and dishes of Roman cuisine. A real Roman experience, before being a tour.
We will visit local artists and crafts studios – engravers, sculptors, painters, jewelers, mosaicists and photographers – who will open the doors of their artist studios, will show us their works of art, and they will tell us how their work is carried out in their own studio or in the city context where their poetics is born.
In addition to the studios of individual artists, we also propose to discover places of the capital such as the ex Lanificio Luciani, whose structure, now renovated, represents an important center of artistic production in Rome, and hosts several artist studios in continuous creative ferment.
We offer two types of tours: half day tours (3 hours) and full day tours (6 hours). During the half-day tours (about 3 hours) we would combine the exploration of a characteristic place in Rome or a walk in a neighborhood of the Eternal City with a visit to an artist’s studio (or craft shop, or slow food presidium). With the full day tour (about 6 hours) you can visit several artist studios (at least two) by associating them with two guided tour routes, or decide to go for a guided tour of a city’s neighbourhood in the morning, and complete the tourin the afternoon with the experience of a visit to local craft shops and slow food presidia.
You just have to choose your otinerary according to your preferences, perhaps letting yourself be inspired by the many tours and guided tours that we offer in and around Rome, and set off to discover the real Rome with our guided experiences.
